The columns used to update recipients in ACH Pro via an Excel file are the same as the columns used to create recipients with two notable differences:
An additional column called Update Using Field Name. This column must contain either the word
name
orexternalId
. For example, ifname
is entered in this column, the recipient name in the Excel file will be used to find an existing recipient in ACH Pro to perform the update. If this field is empty or if it contains a value other than name or externalId, a new recipient will be created since no match could be found. When an update file is imported, each recipient matched in the file will be updated to match exactly what is provided in the file. This means that empty columns will result in empty fields in ACH Pro after the import. For example, if your existing recipient has an email attached, but you don't include that email in the update file, the email will be removed after the import. Be sure that the entire recipient record is provided when performing an update.
